Embassy grief, new OOo book
After much grief today, I got my visa, and well, my passport back. I went in there at about 11.15am, they tell me to return at 2pm (their office closes at 1pm mind you). I sit there, refusing to move. They tell me again to leave, so I do, head back to the city, browsing the bookshops, waiting for my lunch date, at 1.15pm. They call me again at 12.40pm and tell me the visa is ready (it was to be ready on Monday), and I must get it at 1pm. Leave immediately to the train station, and arrive there at 1.35pm, banging on doors so that I could get my passport (and visa). That is my adventure with the Indian Consulate. Oh, lunch date was 2.20pm, at a *nice* Japanese restaurant (one hour wait, sigh).
OOo Book
That says it. Con Zymaris wrote a little beginners guide to OOo. It’s a pocketbook, comes with a CD attached, and costs AUD$14.95. It’s available at all good newsstands out there (I got mine from the newsagent in Clayton). Oh, yeah, I wrote the Foreward to the book, so I’m a little happy to see it on the stands!
