Printing sucks

Who said Mac OS X got printing right? Even they can’t please Aunt Tillie. Printing is supposed to be simple enough, OS X with Rendezvous is detects printers just fine, but printing is still not simple. Why? A PDF document I was trying to print was actually US Letter sized, and by the time it printed line eight, the job would die – this got repeated several times.

I tried on Linux, and it just worked. Detemined to make OS X work, I ended up changing the page setup to A4, and only then did it ask me if I’d like to crop or scale the PDF. Keep in mind, Linux made it work automagically.

Sander, I agree on crappy landings – flights bog you down, and the whole experience just generally sucks. Pre-planning (visa’s, travel agents, etc…), the airport ground crew, the cabin crew, and post-planning (un-winding, jet lag, etc…) Security being another issue these days. Urgh
