More OOo notes?
Party last night, which meant I came home today morning feeling very wasted. But I needed the fun, I think. Mother’s Day today…
Got pointed to a very good article titled T-Obszoene asshole advertisement, which provides substantial reasoning as to why Otto needs to be reworked. And it is. The Mind the Gap column compares Writer and Word, and it does seem that Microsoft got their stylist fixed (and it does look nicer than what we have). Other points are untrue – no Office ‘97 mindset, and the word-count feature is getting sweeter.

A more accessible word-count
Apparently there are going to be ICDL styled notes about OpenOffice.org ready; some discussion on reworking my materials to move alongside the ICDL/ECDL structure. The ones coming out of .za aren’t going to be released though, to my current understanding. Updating these notes are on my lengthy to-do list, as is the possibility of charging for them. And a dual-licensing possiblity. Comments/thoughts?
Also, along the lines of videos/interactive manuals, Microsoft sells some. Thomas Chung has got the FC1 install in a movie. This sort of helps people/users and for some reason, I think videos might help end users convert. Time to get a video camera?
Update: Instructional videos, not just captures from a vnc install or something! With audio, not just animated screenshots.
