iBook G3 sleep/FC-3 PPC

Sunday, December 5th, 2004

Quick note before I forget. FC-3 PPC pretty much just works, really, everything in it is so cool and sleep works, among other good things. udev problems are fixed, and G3 sleep even with X running and stuff works - the FC-2 tree was plagued with a broken GNOME control-center, the FC-3 tree is plagued with a haldemon.

/etc/init.d/haldemon stop before putting the iBook G3 to sleep is all you need. Of course if you have a G4 with the recent sleep patch and dwmw2’s kernels, I have no idea how it works, though I’m assured it does.

uFAQ-less, and work

Pictures from the company lunch, dinner and a friendly waitress, and lunch the following day. Otherwise, I’ve been working on Lenya quite a bit. And finding out that PostgreSQL has a few critical short comings - at least the point-in-time recovery in 8.0 will rock (pity, it ain’t for production systems).

I have officially stopped supporting the OpenOffice.org Unofficial FAQ. Really, the guys at OOoAuthors did a great job at importing the primitive FAQ I had, and added lots of cooler content. So go view their FAQ, which is where I’d be pushing stuff to, if I do continue FAQ help. I think I might be concentrating on the OS X port a lot more now… </end-of-an-era>

So besides being busy, and spending most days (and nights) at the office, I’ve not really done much else… Oh, Fedora Core 3/ppc ISOs that we have don’t boot, which sucks.
