[...] the hot backup is only available in the Network Edition (which costs money). I remember the pain in upgrading Zimbra, and it would have been great if there was a hot backup with an easy restore [...]

Thanks for responding John. I'll be sure to try this out in a RHEL4 VM image in a while, and tell you more when time permits.

Incidentally, your recommendation of Ubuntu 6.06 LTS... there should be a new LTS release soon, I believe, will the upgrade path be supported? I noticed on the Wiki that there was a RHEL4->RHEL5 migration guide (which was really simple, turn off Zimbra, upgrade OS, be happy :P)

Thanks!

Not a fib. CentOS is not exactly compatible with RHEL.
They strive for 100% compatibility, and it works great in most cases. . but not in this one. See: http://bugs.centos.org/view_all_bug_page.php

Yes john, I just saw your announcement. Does it not seem to be a bit of a fib though, seeing that CentOS is exactly compatible with RHEL?

Colin,
The issue with the Scalar :: Util seems to be a CentOS only issue. It works fine on RHEL. We only support RHEL, not CentOS.

Yeah, got to say that the impression with Zimbra 5 is that it's not had thorough testing yet. :-(
