The article does show some insight as to where they&#8217;re trying to make inroads, so much so a fairly reputable company, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.emedia.com.my\/TECH\/BizComp\/NewsAnalysis\/20040506141138\/wartrevamp\">ByteCraft advances with Linux<\/a> (basically, new carriers of Novell\/SuSe solutions).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.elxlinux.com\/index.php\">Everyone&#8217;s Linux<\/a>, while a company based in India, is funded by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mavcap.com.my\/\">MAVCAP<\/a>, so there&#8217;s plenty of Malaysian interest there. Local company, <a href=\"http:\/\/kitech.com.my\/elx\/\">Kitech<\/a> has a support site even. Its definitely a Red Hat based distribution, probably RH8\/9 styled.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.linuxworldexpo.com.sg\/content.php?content.17\">LinuxWorld Conference &#038; Expo 2004: Malaysia<\/a> is on as well. Some of the tracks look interesting, and from reports, it&#8217;s been very largely focused on Linux in the enterprise. IBM and Novell are the main contenders, a missing RH, even though focus is on enterprises.<\/p>\n<p>When will a bunch of Malaysian students <a href=\"http:\/\/globeandmail.com\/servlet\/story\/RTGAM.20040505.wlinux0505\/BNStory\/Technology\/\">start<\/a> an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ignalum.com\/\">Ignalum<\/a>?
