If you&#8217;re looking to be updated on MariaDB content on a regular basis, don&#8217;t forget to be on Twitter (<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mariadb\">@mariadb<\/a>), Facebook (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/MariaDB.dbms\">MariaDB.dbms<\/a>), or Google Plus (<a href=\"https:\/\/plus.google.com\/+mariadb\/posts\">+mariadb<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>There was a question on Quora &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quora.com\/MySQL\/Is-Facebook-considering-ditching-MySQL-in-favor-of-MariaDB-like-Google-did?share=1\">Is Facebook considering ditching MySQL in favor of MariaDB like Google did?<\/a> The best answer really comes from Harrison Fisk, so I&#8217;ll leave you to it <a href=\"http:\/\/qr.ae\/GHZBd\">to read<\/a>. The older link made its way on social media about\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/source.quora.com\/Wikipedia_-mv-MySQL-MariaDB\">Wikipedia_$ mv MySQL MariaDB<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"http:\/\/rcm-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/cm?lt1=_blank&#038;bc1=000000&#038;IS2=1&#038;bg1=FFFFFF&#038;fc1=000000&#038;lc1=0000FF&#038;t=colincharles-20&#038;o=1&#038;p=8&#038;l=as4&#038;m=amazon&#038;f=ifr&#038;ref=ss_til&#038;asins=B00G395OS0\" style=\"width:120px;height:240px;\" scrolling=\"no\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" frameborder=\"0\" align=\"left\"><\/iframe>MariaDB 10.0 went into <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.mariadb.org\/mariadb-10-0-beta-launched-an-important-milestone\/\">beta<\/a> (with the 10.0.5 release). We made a 10.0.6 release shortly afterwards to fix some bugs. One cool thing to note &#8212; the blog post from Ian Gulliver at Google about how <a href=\"http:\/\/google-opensource.blogspot.fi\/2013\/11\/welcoming-mariadb-1005.html\">Google is making use of MariaDB today<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.skysql.com\/downloads\/mariadb-audit-plugin\">MariaDB Audit plugin<\/a>\u00a0is now GA &#8211; yes, you have to register to download it, but it&#8217;s worth it. There is also a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.skysql.com\/why-skysql\/webinars\/mariadb-audit-plugin-overview\">webminar<\/a>\u00a0on this come Dec 5 which can be worth attending.<\/p>\n<p>There is a new book out by Daniel Bartholomew:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B00G395OS0\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=390957&#038;creativeASIN=B00G395OS0&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;tag=colincharles-20\">Getting Started with MariaDB<\/a><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/ir?t=colincharles-20&#038;l=as2&#038;o=1&#038;a=B00G395OS0\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" style=\"border:none !important; margin:0px !important;\" \/>. I fully intend to read &#038; review it soon (you can also get this from O&#8217;Reilly&#8217;s Safari Bookshelf).<\/p>\n<p>Navicat has announced <a href=\"http:\/\/www.navicat.com\/products\/navicat-for-mariadb\">Navicat for MariaDB<\/a> for all your GUI needs on Windows, Mac or Linux. There is a free trial, or it costs in various prices for their non-commercial, standard or enterprise edition.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/mariadb.com\/resources\/downloads\/mariadb-enterprise\">MariaDB Enterprise Beta<\/a> program started. I myself signed up for the beta to give it a spin. From what I gather most people that signed up qualified to give it a go. It is likely to go GA in mid-December. It is opensource software. Look at the <a href=\"https:\/\/mariadb.com\/sites\/default\/files\/20131105_MDBE_GettingStartedGuideBeta_0.pdf\">getting started guide<\/a> for more.<\/p>\n<p>And in case you didn&#8217;t already notice, the <a href=\"https:\/\/mariadb.com\/kb\/en\/\">Knowledge Base<\/a> has had a redesign.
