{"id":3140,"date":"2015-12-12T07:28:50","date_gmt":"2015-12-12T12:28:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bytebot.net\/blog\/?p=3140"},"modified":"2015-12-12T07:47:44","modified_gmt":"2015-12-12T12:47:44","slug":"mariadb-server-gas-supported-for-5-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bytebot.net\/blog\/archives\/2015\/12\/12\/mariadb-server-gas-supported-for-5-years","title":{"rendered":"MariaDB Server GA&#8217;s supported for 5 years"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There was some discussion a while back to maybe make MariaDB Server\u00a0follow the Ubuntu release model, i.e. having a Long Term Release (LTS) and then having a few regular fast releases with a shorter support cycle.<\/p>\n<p>However its good to note that the <a href=\"https:\/\/lists.launchpad.net\/maria-discuss\/msg03172.html\">decision<\/a> now going forward is to support each and every GA release for a period of <strong>five (5) years<\/strong>. However, regular releases will only happen for the <strong>latest three (3) GA releases<\/strong>, so at this moment, you are getting updates for\u00a0MariaDB Server 5.5\/10.0\/10.1.<\/p>\n<p>Practically, we\u2019ve not seen an update for 5.1\/5.2\/5.3 since 30 Jan 2013 at the time of this writing.
