{"id":3153,"date":"2016-01-07T18:26:11","date_gmt":"2016-01-07T10:26:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bytebot.net\/blog\/?p=3153"},"modified":"2016-01-09T07:28:17","modified_gmt":"2016-01-08T23:28:17","slug":"a-temporary-manager-of-your-assets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bytebot.net\/blog\/archives\/2016\/01\/07\/a-temporary-manager-of-your-assets","title":{"rendered":"A temporary manager of your assets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Oleg Tinkov, a Russian oligarch, at his recent <a href=\"https:\/\/next.ft.com\/content\/3e6727e6-a966-11e5-9700-2b669a5aeb83\">Lunch with the FT<\/a> interview:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>Tinkov says the major difference between himself and more conventional Russian oligarchs is simple: \u201cI don\u2019t depend on the government like they depend on it.\u201d Most oligarchs are \u201ctemporary managers of their assets \u2013 they are not real owners\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This got me thinking quite a bit, because the idea of being a temporary manager of your assets is an interesting (albeit, true) one. This is probably true in many situations, and one that resonates in the startup world is when you\u2019ve taken on venture funding.
