I <a href=\"https:\/\/lists.launchpad.net\/maria-discuss\/msg03083.html\">suggested<\/a> that the MariaDB Foundation\u00a0do this for downloads to the\u00a0MariaDB Server, and it looks like most people seem to think that it is an <a href=\"https:\/\/lists.launchpad.net\/maria-discuss\/msg03089.html\">OK<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/lists.launchpad.net\/maria-discuss\/msg03084.html\">thing<\/a> to do.<\/p>\n<p>I see it being done with Ubuntu, LibreOffice, and more recently: <a href=\"https:\/\/elementary.io\/\">elementary OS<\/a>. The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.elementary.io\/post\/110645528530\/payments\">reasoning<\/a>\u00a0seems sound, though there was some <a href=\"http:\/\/www.infoworld.com\/article\/2883114\/should-you-pay-for-elementary-os.html\">controversy<\/a> before they changed the language of the post.
